November Two...

Emilyisms... Sometimes they make my day.

Tonight was an all girl movie night. So, we had to have popcorn. For whatever reason, Emily didn't want to eat hers. She runs over and whispers in my ear (with her loud grandma whisper), "I don't want to eat mine. My ankle hurts and I have a Hannah Montana song stuck in my head."

Then, she ran upstairs and got her laptop (it's a VTech, but real to her). She sat there scrolling through her "pics of Allie" showing me each one (a tiny blank screen, because the laptop wasn't turned on). Then she says, "Oh yeah, Mom, I found out last night on the internet that defecate means poop. See? Here's a picture of the poop." Lauryn (sitting across the room) yells "Emily!" Then Em popped back with "Just kidding. It's a butterfly."

November One

Day One of November... Hard to believe how quickly this year is coming to an end. As I stated before, I had a hard time deciding what to choose as my first choice. I chose Larry's job. I am thankful for this for the obvious reasons and for the not so obvious that I would like to mention.

We have been living on one income for about a year now, due to medical issues, training, and our pcs to Alaska. Life goes on whether you are ready for it or not. Our faith has been stretched and tested during this year and it hasn't been easy. If you have ever had to choose which bill to pay, or tell your kids they cannot have certain things due to your financial situation, you know what I am talking about. This picture is a reminder of how God took care of us during this time of learning.

God wants you to be responsible with the small things, so he can bless you with the big things!

29 more days, 29 more chances to express your thankfulness... GO!

Nearing November

Well... what d'ya know, it's almost November. Where did the time go? This is my favorite month of the year. No, not because it is the month I was born. I love the air and the love that's in it. I love the family time and the thankfulness that seems to flood the hearts of those around me.

Although I am thankful throughout the year and every day of it, there is just something different about this time.

So... I invite you to join me for the thirty days of November to find the little things, the big things,  the everyday things that we are thankful for.

30 Days of Thankful Thinking... GO!
